What is Scenario Navigator Web?

Scenario Navigator Web (SNWeb) is the next step in the evolution of our decision support platform which is currently under development. In this preview we shine a light on the next version of Scenario Navigator.

SNWeb enables simulation in “the cloud”. In cloud computing the power of the Internet is used to distribute computation and data over a scalable network of servers. However, we foresee that the benefits of simulation in the cloud reach much further than improved processing speeds and greater data storage capacity. SN Web leverages the power of simulation beyond expert model builders and simulation consultants. Simulation models become services which, in principle, can be used directly by all the stakeholders in a decision making process.

While Scenario Navigator is an application that is installed on a single PC, SNWeb will be a service that is made available over the web. SNWeb is not linked to a single PC, instead it is linked to a user account. A user of SNWeb can login from any location and at any time using just a web browser. Groups of users can be assigned to simulation projects in which each user can perform a different role. Users can simultaneously edit simulation experiments and run simulation models.

We make use of advanced Web2.0 technologies to achieve a rich and interactive experience which closely resembles the desktop version of SN. SNWeb requires no special browser add-ons.

Benefits:
- No software installation on individual PCs
- Scalable architecture
- Truly multi-user
- Parallel processing capabilities
- Simulation as a service
